Main Responsibilities
Focus on supporting, as legal business partner, the management as a senior lawyer of outsourced or insourced legal team supports conducting the following work areas:
- Working collaboratively with external lawyers supporting business for capex internally and across multi jurisdictions, and to ensure that the business complies with all internal policies, local regulatory and reporting requirements, and assumes a risk allocation appropriate to the business.
- Mitigate potential legal and reputational risk by improving and maintaining the governance framework in each market in terms of customer compliance, sanctions framework, product & regulatory compliance, contracts compliance.
- Identifying potential legal risks of business activities, and proactively taking steps to minimize legal exposure effectively through practical advice to the business.
- Preparing strategy and ensuring trainings are conducted for the business in, amongst others, Legal Induction, Business Integrity, Sanctions, Anti-Dumping, Marketing & IP Laws, Privacy Laws, and Competition Laws.
- Collaborating with local legal and external affairs team in relation to business partnering communications with governments, key negotiations, litigation activity and major projects.
- This work will on a work-daily basis often involve the scoping of work instructions, supervision of drafting and analysis performed by others, and reporting to the business contacts for the area.
- For some more complex or high-risk matters, some co-drafting of advice and contracts will be necessary.

Other Requirements
Due to the supervisory and senior team support requirements for this role, this role will suit a mature candidate with significant experience of the supervision of legal work performed by others, to identify quickly and communicate with brevity the core risks to the business.
General Requirements
- Holds an academic degree in law and is a fully qualified lawyer in Indonesia (advokat), with minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience including experience in handling complex transactions and matters for a similar (i.e., manufacturing or process) industry.
- Has an obsession to make a difference by being part of the force for good of the team.
- Has a proven track record of working with cross-border & multi-cultural teams; winning together is a must.
- Has strong skills (written and oral) in the English language.
- Has an experience in advocacy and engaging government officials.
- Possesses an exceptional ability to collaborate and communicate with others, both internally and externally and with a strong consumer & customer obsession
- Has track record of providing best of breed solutions and thinking out of the box as an in-house counsel.
- Holder of PERADI license (this is a must),and having litigation and industrial relations experience is a plus.
- Has a global mindset but with strong local execution capabilities and ability to handle multiple assignments & manage major projects to successful completion.
- Comfortable to instruct the drafting of, reviewing and redrafting as needed, through to completion, a wide range of medium and complex supply chain, procurement, and product sale transactions.
- Identifies legal risks and helps the business navigate them, providing creative but legally compliant solutions.
- Provides concise guidance and advice on escalated legal and risk issues.
- Creates clear risk analysis and guidance for a non-legal audience.
- Provides clear instructions to external and internal legal service providers, contract support lawyers and law firms.
